Are The Video Game Controllers Getting Harder To Use?
I mean in the 80s when we had classic nintendo, there was a D-pad, Start, Select, A button, & a B button. Then each console got more buttons. The Nintendo 64 introduced the control stick.Gamecube has 2 control sticks and various buttons. The Wii has a remote-like item and a numbchuck part.Do you think it was easier to know the controllers on the past consoles?

Your character can do more functions than back in the 80s baseball buttons. like Mario could only run, dash, jump, duck, & throw fireballs back in 1985(my year of birth)in 1996, he could jump in various ways, punch, kick, crawl, flip, & slide. Now he could probably do even more with more buttons and controllers.

The whole concept of using one joystick to choose your direction and using another to physically move boggles my mind. And it's not like I'm an inexperienced old fogie either!! NES and SNES were too simplistic. Sega Genesis was slightly better. N64 was great, GameCube was mostly good. Xbox and PS really depend on the game. Haven't tried Wii yet...I guess I am old now :'( baseball buttons. I'm guessing I'm the only person looking at this who remembers the launch of SNES, while owning a NES...just looked it up, apparently I was a couple months old when NES came out here, and 5 when SNES hit baseball buttons. So old... :'( I say this not to share my life story but to show that when you grow up with the simpler technology, the more advanced can go over your head! This must be what my parents feel like! :P baseball buttons.

2007-08-13 11:47:58 Hazel-Highlands says: maybe cuz then it was more simple
2007-08-13 11:52:53 Chi-Tilton says: because of the how simple the games were then all they needed was that simple controler but now to get more interactive with the game and open newer possiblities of what you can controll they added more buttons and even motion sensory to them.. which does make em much more complex looking but once you geta hold of em for a while you adapt and learn pretty easily... even little kids can do it
